Same as the Builk logo, icons need to be clean, simple, and drawn using a single color. If you have difficulty making an icon simple and easy to understand, perhaps the user would have too. Not all items require an icon, so choose wisely. Use icons only when they add considerable value to their text counterparts. The use of web fonts in the display of icons is much preferred since they render in all browsers and support newer high density displays.

The base icon set is Font Awesome, chosen for it's broad range of constantly developing high quality icons for web applications. Only if absolutely necessary should you create your own custom font for additional icons.
